    The Polaris Difference

    Why Ballard Locals Choose Polaris

    Free Parking In Our Lot

We share a large free parking lot with BevMo near Fred Meyer. No meters, no circling the block, no stress. If you've ever tried to park for a 6 AM class in Ballard, you know this matters.

    Classes Capped At 15

Every class has a coach who knows your name, watches your form, and adjusts the workout to where you are. This isn't a class where you hide in the back row.

    Built For The Long Haul

Most of our members are professionals and parents in their 30s, 40s, and 50s who want to stay strong for decades. We focus on sustainable progression, not redlining every session.

    Expert Coaches

Our experienced coaching staff builds individualized plans and provides hands-on guidance in every class.

    Ballard Gym Questions

Do I need experience to join?

No. Most of our members started as beginners. If you're new to strength training, our On-Ramp course teaches you the fundamental movements in four coached sessions so you feel confident before joining group classes. If you have lifting experience, you can jump straight into classes after your free intro.

    Is this a CrossFit gym?

Yes, we are a CrossFit affiliate and more. Polaris grew out of CrossFit Twenty Pound Hammer, and our programming is rooted in functional fitness. We've evolved toward a strength-biased approach with structured progressions, fewer randomized daily workouts, and more planned training cycles. If you've done CrossFit before, it will feel familiar but more intentional. If you haven't, this isn't about competing or collapsing on the floor.

    What are class times?

We offer classes 7 days a week, with early morning sessions starting at 6 AM, plus midday and evening options. Morning and evening classes are the busiest. Midday classes tend to be smaller if you prefer a quieter session.
